I'm barely alive. I'm just a little bit away from death.

Image result for prisoner b-3087My name is Yanek Gruener is captured in the streets of Krakow and taken to a concentration camp. He finds his Uncle-his last living relative, and he finds that the kapos kill Jews by the hour. It is a horrible place where they have to share beds with 10 other people and they get shipped in cattle cars packed in so tight people die from suffocation, starvation and even getting overheated. He gets shipped all over the country and goes to about 10 different concentration camps. When the death walk of 1795 happens, so many Jews die that Yanek and the rest of the living Jews have to get shipped from camp to camp. They also have to do so much work that the kapos just play around with them. the make them carry rocks up a hill and down again over and over till they all die. Or until the kapos go to sleep. But if he takes one too small, then he will get shot because the kapos will think that he is not doing enough work. this book is kind of not kid friendly-there is a lot of dying so I would not recomend for young readers and I would warn people-there is some bad language too.
