Ghost Boys a good book

Image result for the book ghost boysI read ghost boys and it does get sad because this does happen to some people just because they have a different skin color and people should not be treated like this because of the way they look it should not matter what your skin color is you should be treated the same but we live in a safe country where this does not happen a lot. The boy is telling the story as him as a ghost. It is also sad to think about because this does actually happen in the world.  And people don't deserve to be treated this way.

But if you don't like sad books this is not your book.

I would rate it 4 1/2

  • People who love stories about the strength of love and family.
  • People who enjoy reading books with strong female characters.
  • Anyone who has survived a flood, a hurricane or any other disaster really. (Be warned, it could bring back some tough emotions and memories for you though.)

An added note...
I connected to this book because I lived in Florida at the time Hurricane Katrina hit.  I remember watching what happened in New Orleans on the news and being so, so sad. The devastation was immense and so many people were unable to escape or were separated from their families.  So many people lost their homes, their loved ones, and even their lives. This book made me sad all over again but it also helped me understand just how resilient or strong some humans are in the face of disaster.

I would give this book 4 stars.
