I lost my leg...now I need to run.

Image result for the running dream
What do you think happens when you get on a bus to go to a track meet.  You just get there and then suddenly, you're in the hospital waking up from a 10-day coma. Lucy is dead, and so is your leg. You need to run again. But you can't. This book is about a girl who has to have her leg amputated because she twisted her leg so much in the accident that it twisted all the bones apart. When she and her track team raise enough money to buy a running prosthetic for her, she tries out for her dream again. Then she meets rose, a girl with cerebral palsy and she decides to enter a 10k run pushing rose in a wheelchair.
I recommend this book for people who like to read about physical disabilities.
I give this book 5 stars.

I can't talk. I can't move. I can't do anything.

Image result for out of my mind bookI just read out of my mind by Sharon M. Draper.  poor melody can't speak, move or even go to the bathroom on her own!  When she gets a Miditaker,  she becomes someone else.  She tries out for the national whiz kids team.  She is super smart and can't share any of her thoughts.  Just when things start to get good, something really sad happens.  She makes one friend, Rose, but is she really her true friend?  Is she actually smart enough to make the whiz kids team?  Will she ever be able to express her feelings like others?  I would recomend this book to people who like sad stories and people who read about disabilities and how they work through them. Image result for 5 stars

What would you do if you can never use a electronic? Never able to be in light? Live in eternal darkness?

Image result for lovely dark and deep book summary

When Viola Li becomes photosensitive to UV rays her life is miserable.  She can't use her phone, or any electronic device ever again, she has to live in the dark the rest of her life, and she can't go outside.  She has to wear a big floppy hat and wear 5 layers of clothes when she goes outside and she has to wear a ski-mask to get in the car. She is so miserable that she can't control herself and she goes crazy. When she goes outside in cute shorts and a cute tank top, life is painful, deadly, and possibly melty.  She could die if she goes outside.  What's even worse is she is on the track team.  When she runs away to pursue her dream of being normal,  something really bad happens.  I give this book 4 stars.  Image result for four stars

The Reason I Jump is a book about what goes on in an autism's mind. The book is also written by a 13 year old with autism, his name is Naoki Higashida. On every page it has a question that he gets ask and then he writes his answers. After reading this you will understand their pain and you will be thankful that you are "normal". After reading this I want to try to help people who I know who have autism.
  • I recommend this book for people who have someone in there family or know someone with autism for you/they understand what autism's troubles are and we do somethings.
  • I also recommend this book for people who have autism to have them understand that they aren't alone and that others also go threw this stuff.

What would it be like to loose a limb...

The book Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen is an amazing book about Jessica, a 16-year-old girl who loves running. Sadly, Jessica gets into an accident and loses one of her legs. All she wants to do is run but it brings her down that she could possibly never run again. When she finally gets back to school after days in the hospital she makes a friend she never even noticed before just because she had cerebral palsy. While she's off making new friends her track teams trying to get her back on her feet. I would recommend this to someone that like stories about friendship, captivating books, and the challenge of feeling alone. I would give this book a 5-star rating because it truly sucks you in so you don't want to put it down

Insignificant events in the life of a cactus

Aven green lost her arms in a cage fight with an alligator, or at least that's what she likes to tell people, along with multiple other ridiculous stories. But what really happened was she was born with no arms. But it's ok because at her school she has tons of supporting friends, or at least until she moves to a rundown theme park in Arizona. Aven is trying to make friends at her new school but everyone gives her, the stare. Everything sucks until she meets Connor, a boy who also struggles to fit in. But when Aven and Connor find some interesting papers in a locked storage shed in the back of the park a mystery starts, The friends try to solve the mystery of this while trying to fit in at school.
I would recommend this book to people who...

.Like funny books
.Can understand sarcasm in reading
.Like slightly sad books

I gave this for stars because it takes a while for the plot to start

My poor arm...that stupid shark...

Image result for shark girl the bookWhat would you do if a shark comes up behind you and bites your arm?  It does not come clean off, but they have to amputate it.  I just finished reading the book Shark Girl and it was probably about 3.5 stars.  It was about this girl who gets her arm amputated on account of a shark attack and then the doctors have to amputate it.  When Jane gets out of her coma, she realizes that she can't do things like she could before.  She gets depression because of her disability.  The book is all about how she works through this depression and kind of fails at everything.  I would recommend this book for anyone who likes reading about tragic disasters and people who read about people working through their disabilities.

Full of Hope

Jessica Carlisle just broke a track record. She boards a bus to go back to her school, then a drunk driver tailgates them. The next time she wakes up, she has a leg and a half. This book is the story of her recovery, getting through depression, and eventually finding hope.

I recommend that you read this book if you:

  • Have met, know, are, or want to know more about amputees.
  • Are not an amputee.
  • Enjoy running and do it as a sport.
  • Want to read a hopeful story.

This story was an excellent read. I strongly recommend.
