The Crossover by Kwame Alexander is a book with lots of basketball so if you like basketball you might enjoy this book. This book is not just about basketball though. It is also about Josh Bell and his brother, Jordan and challenges they face along the way. There is also Josh's mom Crystal and her worrying about Josh's dad Chuck Bell's health.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes basketball, suspenseful books, and books in verse.
I give The Crossover 4.6 out of 5 stars

She's Mexican american and she officially can't exist
I read My sister's copy of Someone like me and it all about this Mexican American girl named Julissa Arce. She was born in a bathroom and got tangled up in her umbilical cord and now her mother cannot have any other babies. When she was six, her parents started selling jewelry in America. When she was seven, most of her parent's jewelry got stolen when they were eating lunch. Then when she was ten, her mother had another baby. Julissa now had 2 older sisters and one younger brother. After that, she moved to America with her mom and dad. Her dad started to abuse her by hitting her with something until it broke. They became super poor because her dad drunk 10 cans of beer every night. They have to move to a different state and Julissa wants to have a quinceanera but her family does not have the money. Her dad gets arrested because he abused Julissa and her mom and now she and her mom can't go back to Mexico, because Julissa was only using a two-year guest permit to live in America but now that it has expired, she will get killed if the police find out about her. she needs to keep a low profile, get into college, and become an actual American citizen.I recomend this book to people who like young adult books and people who like diverse non-americans.

I wish I had listened to Kim. It would've changed everything.
The title of this book is Ghost Boys.
It is about a boy named Jerome. He gets killed from a white cop in Chicago. This book tells us about what Jerome's life was like before and after he was killed. I find this really interesting because it leaves you off on a cliffhanger and you have to wait until the next dead of alive chapter to come.

Great Book About Unnecessary Servitude...
Amal Unbound
Amal Unbound is based on a girl in Pakistan. She wants to be a teacher when she is old enough, but her dreams are shattered when she is rude to one of the ruling families of her village. She is forced to become an indentured servant to him until her family has paid off the debts necessary for her release. While she is there, she makes a friend, who tells her a secret that could change her village's future forever...
Ghost Boys a good book
I read ghost boys and it does get sad because this does happen to some people just because they have a different skin color and people should not be treated like this because of the way they look it should not matter what your skin color is you should be treated the same but we live in a safe country where this does not happen a lot. The boy is telling the story as him as a ghost. It is also sad to think about because this does actually happen in the world. And people don't deserve to be treated this way.But if you don't like sad books this is not your book.
I would rate it 4 1/2

You're trapped in a coffin...and you have to fight your way out
Alive- Scott Sigler
It's your twelfth birthday. You don't want to go to school. No one should have to go to school on their birthday right? A sharp pain wakes you up. Ow... What is that? You try to sit up, but there's something above your head. Is it...a lid? Am I... in a coffin? You have to fight your way out, and after trying, and trying, you finally break out and stumble onto the ground. Blinding light meets your eyes. When you finally adjust to the light, you realize you're in a room with many more un-opened coffins. You have no idea what is coming next.

WARNING! Anyone who can not handle strong language I do not recommend this book for you. (Well actually I kind of forgot if this book has swears in it, but I think it does, so...yeah.)
I give this book 5 stars because it is AMAZING.

This an awesome that you should read
The crossover was written by Kwame Alexander was a great book especially if you like basketball. I think this was a widow for me because these two kids in the book are only in 7th grade and in their life they have to experience a horrific thing that happens to them at the end of the book. I personally haven't experience what has happened to these two twin brothers.I would recommend this book to people that like basketball but you don't even have to like basketball to like this book because it is about so much more. if you like cliffhangers then you might like this book.
I would give this book 4.5 stars.

The Breadwinner: A GOOD Book
I liked this book because it took place in Iraq. This man and his daughter sell goods for money. Her dad gets arrested for no reason and the family needs money. The daughter has to pretend to be a boy so that she can walk around the streets because women aren't allowed to be on the streets without a man. I would rate this 41/2 stars because it's a really good book.
Recommended for people who like graphic novels and "window" books.

A hurricane is coming...and that is only the beginning!
Lanesha loves math and wants to be an engineer when she grows up. See can also see ghosts, her mother's is still hanging around the house. Mama Ya-Ya, Lanesha's caregiver, can see the future. They live in Ninth Ward, one of the poorest neighborhoods in New Orleans. Mama-YaYa knows something worse than a hurricane is coming but her visions don't make any sense to her. Will they survive when they don't have the resources to escape? Read Ninth Ward by Jewell Parker Rhodes to find out.
- People who love stories about the strength of love and family.
- People who enjoy reading books with strong female characters.
- Anyone who has survived a flood, a hurricane or any other disaster really. (Be warned, it could bring back some tough emotions and memories for you though.)
An added note...
I connected to this book because I lived in Florida at the time Hurricane Katrina hit. I remember watching what happened in New Orleans on the news and being so, so sad. The devastation was immense and so many people were unable to escape or were separated from their families. So many people lost their homes, their loved ones, and even their lives. This book made me sad all over again but it also helped me understand just how resilient or strong some humans are in the face of disaster.
I would give this book 4 stars.
